Two Sidhu Moose Wala killers were gunned down after a heavy exchange of fire with Punjab Police near Amritsar on Wednesday, according to an official. Alberta expanding supports and consolidating services for victims of crime

EDMONTON - The Alberta government plans to expand the range of supports available to victims of crime starting this fall. Justice Minister Tyler Shandro said Tuesday that the changes, set to begin Sept. 1, aim to give additional help to victims of violence who face complex and unique problems. Among the changes, victims needing help coping with a severe brain injury would be able to access up to $100,000 with ongoing supplemental benefits of $1,000 a month. Vancouver police say a second-degree murder charge have been laid in the stabbing death of 29 year old Justin Mohrmann in the city's Yaletown area last week. Police say 34 year old Lindsay Scott was arrested after a week-long investigation. There's no indication that the woman knew the victim and police say it's believed they were strangers.
