The BC Prosecution Service says a suspect arrested following a shooting at the Williams Lake Stampede has been charged with attempted murder. Jordell Sellars has also been charged with discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life. RCMP say two people were taken to hospital in what they say was a brazen shooting at the stampede grounds yesterday afternoon. Staff Sergeant Darren Dodge says in a release that police believe it was a targeted shooting but one innocent bystander was also wounded.

Canada Border Services says it found more than 50 bricks of drugs when officers searched a truck trying to cross from the United States at the Aldergrove border crossing. The agency says officers noticed that some pallets had been tampered with when they searched the truck last month. They found 50 kilograms of suspected cocaine and one kilo of heroin. The RCMP has taken over the investigation and no charges have been announced.

An 18 year old Quebec student who was visiting BC as part of a school group has been critically injured in a bus crash near Castlegar. RCMP say the teen and 15 other Quebec students were aboard a transit bus near Castlegar last Thursday when the bus was side-swiped by a delivery van, severely injuring the teen who was sitting beside the window where the van hit.
