The Russian government is set to introduce a new law that will prohibit the promotion of discouraging childbearing within the country. Any posts or videos that advocate against having children will be banned from social media platforms. On November 12, the lower house of the Russian Parliament passed a proposal related to this law. RCMP federal investigators have arrested three men in British Columbia they believe are connected to a transnational organized crime group connected to Mexican drug cartels bringing cocaine into Canada. They say officers also seized 23 firearms, several thousand rounds of ammunition and "multi-kilos of illicit drugs" from a home in Surrey, B.C. Mounties in Burnaby say westbound lanes of Highway 1 near the city have been shut after a multi-vehicle crash. They say just before 3 a.m., officers responded to reports of a five-car collision on the highway, just east of the Kensington Avenue off-ramp. Police say five people were transported to hospital, three with minor injuries and two in serious condition, and the road was immediately closed. They say it is expected to be shut down for the rest of the morning and potentially into the afternoon. RCMP are advising commuters to take an alternate route and are asking people to work from home
