Snow alerts issued in several areas of British Columbia

Environment Canada has issued snow alerts in several areas of British Columbia for Tuesday. Special weather statements cover eastern and inland Vancouver Island, the Fraser Valley, Howe Sound, the Sunshine Coast and Metro Vancouver. The forecaster says snowfall amounts will vary significantly depending on elevation and how close the area is to the water. It says five to 20 centimetres of wet snow is expected with the highest amounts likely over Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, where the snow is expected to persist the longest. 14-year-old snowboarder found safe and sound at B.C.'s Sun Peaks ski resort

The RCMP say a 14-year-old snowboarder who was missing near Kamloops, B.C., has been found ``safe and sound.'' The Mounties say the boy took a shuttle to the Sun Peaks Resort on Sunday morning but failed to catch the return shuttle to Kamloops in the afternoon. It was confirmed that the teen used the chairlift up the mountain and his parents called police Sunday evening, when a search began.

Two men found dead, third still missing in B.C. search that involved hundreds

There's been a tragic end to a weekend search for three young men on southern Vancouver Island.RCMP Staff Sgt.
