Toronto's medical officer of health says all licensed childcare centres will be closed until April 5 to stop the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak. Dr. Eileen de Villa is also recommending that anyone who has travelled recently outside of Canada to self-isolate for two weeks. Canada's national museums are set to shut their doors Saturday as the COVID-19 pandemic hits cultural venues across the country. National Museums of Canada has announced that the public institutions will be closed until further notice to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says while he and his children are remaining in self-isolation after his wife tested positive for the novel coronavirus, health professionals have told him he does not need to be tested unless he develops symptoms. L.A. Matheson high school locked down after staffer assaulted, seriously injured

A staff member has been seriously hurt in an attack at L.A. Matheson high school in Surrey. RCMP say an emergency response team has been sent to L.A. Matheson Secondary School and the building has been locked down. They say a staff member was assaulted just before 8:30 a.m. and has been taken to hospital.
