Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Committee delegation meets Pak High Commissioner
A delegation of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) met the High Commissioner of Pakistan (Political Attache) Aizaz Khan in connection with the recent incident of kidnapping of a Sikh girl Bibi Deena Kaur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
The meeting took place at the High Commission of Pakistan, in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called for political leaders to take a united stance against threats of violence and intimidation after a confrontation in Alberta last week.
A video circulating online over the weekend shows Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland inside City Hall in Grande Prairie, as a man repeatedly swears at her and calls her a traitor.
Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton says in a video posted online that the incident with Freeland was ``a disgusting display of hatred and abuse.''

Alberta road rage incident cause a crash, RCMP investigating
RCMP in Alberta are investigating what they call a road-rage incident that resulted in a crash where a young child was ejected from a vehicle.
Police say they received reports on Saturday afternoon of a white truck passing vehicles, which they say overtook a family's SUV on Highway 2 near Carstairs.
Police allege the truck braked aggressively in front of the SUV, causing it to roll and throwing a child under five from the vehicle.
The child suffered life-threatening injuries, and police said yesterday they were still searching for the truck.

Rupee hits record low, breaches 80 to a US dollar again
Indian rupee again breached the psychologically crucial 80 mark to touch an all-time low of 80.11 in early trade on Monday tracking firmness in the US dollar.
At 10.43 a.m., the rupee traded at 80.020 covering some of its early morning depreciation. On Friday, it closed at 79.87 per US dollar.
In mid-July too, the rupee July slipped below 80 against the US dollar for the first time as high crude oil prices amid tighter global supplies boosted demands for the US dollar.

Multiple ferry delays after man arrested aboard vessel in Nanaimo, B.C.
The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating a report of an individual who went missing from a BC Ferry. The incident occurred shortly after 9 PM Thursday August 25, 2022, and involved the BC Ferry Coastal Inspiration that had departed from Duke Point for Tsawwassen at 8:15 PM.Nanaimo RCMP were requested to meet the ferry at the Duke Point terminal for a report of a vehicle passenger who was acting erratic and causing concern for crew and passengers. A man brutally beaten in Calgary city park, police investigating
Calgary police are investigating after a man was found brutally beaten in a city park.
Officers and paramedics responded yesterday afternoon to reports of an assault in the northwest part of the city.
They found a man who had suffered significant injuries and he was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Witnesses told police they saw the man being hit with a baseball bat and kicked by two other people.

Oregon man accused of kidnapping, rape of Edmonton girl faces 3 new charges
An Oregon man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old Edmonton girl is facing three new criminal charges in the United States.
Police allege Noah Madrano lured the girl through an online platform then abducted her and took her across the U-S border in June.
The girl was rescued on July 2nd when Madrano was arrested and taken into custody in Oregon City.
According to reports he now faces a total of eight charges, which include kidnapping, four sex-related charges, luring and two counts of using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announces Tanya Fir as jobs minister after resignation
Premier Jason Kenney has announced a new jobs minister after the previous one resigned.
Kenney says in a statement that Tanya Fir will become the minister for jobs, economy and innovation and continue to serve as the associate minister of red tape reduction.
He says the legislature member for Calgary-Peigan has previously served in the portfolio, so she is ready to hit the ground running.
The vacancy came after Doug Schweitzer resigned from cabinet.
