A caregiver and the British Columbia society that contracted her services have been charged after the death of a 54-year-old woman with a developmental disability in October 2018. Deaths rise to 132 in China outbreak as foreigners leave

Countries began evacuating their citizens from the Chinese city hardest-hit by an outbreak of a new virus that has killed 132 people and infected more than 6,000 on the mainland and abroad. China's latest figures add 26 to the number of deaths, while its 5,974 cases are a rise of 1,459 from the previous day. Vasilios Georgopoulos was found guilty Tuesday for the 2017 attack that lasted 11 hours and saw the woman physically and sexually assaulted, burned and prevented from leaving a hotel room. India: Woman throws acid on man in UP's Unnao

A woman has allegedly thrown acid on a man in Bhawani Ganj under Maurawan Police Station area here. The incident took place in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. The man and the woman, both in their 20s, were neighbours. Vinod Kumar Pandey, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Unnao said, "We have come to know that they are neighbours and had been in contact with each other for several months. A 45-year-old man is feared drowned after falling into Okanagan Lake while riding an inflatable tube being towed behind a boat, according to West Kelowna RCMP. Police said the incident happened Saturday afternoon when the man lost his balance and fell into the water. Investigators said he was not wearing a life jacket and struggled to stay afloat after entering the lake.
