B.C. is reporting 813 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 186,245 cases in the province. Weapons related incident in Squamish results in one man in custody

Residents of a Squamish neighbourhood were told to stay inside and lock their doors yesterday afternoon as RCMP tried to find a man who was allegedly carrying a rifle. Heavily armed officers patrolled the area and police say a suspect was arrested for a weapons offence about two hours later. Car-Motorcycle Collision in Kelowna, Rider Killed

Kelowna RCMP has confirmed the death of a motorcycle rider following a crash on Highway 97 Thursday night. Police said the collision occurred at around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Ethel Street, involving a black sedan and a motorcycle. The motorcycle caught fire shortly after the crash. Corporal Steven Lang said the motorcycle rider was pronounced dead when emergency crews and police arrived at the scene. A 36-year-old man charged in connection with drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession in Abbotsford has been sentenced to 11 and a half years in prison.
