A man is missing after an avalanche in northeastern B.C. and RCMP say they won't be able to launch a search until snow conditions improve in the area. RCMP in Chetwynd say the man was with a group of snowmobilers in the area where the snow came down. Police say they had received a signal from an emergency beacon on Sunday. The only road leading to the Sasquatch Mountain Resort near Mission has been briefly re-opened after it was blocked by a mudslide on Friday. A Transportation Ministry spokeswoman says emergency repairs had progressed enough to allow for a one-way opening of the road for a short time to allow those still stuck at the resort to drive out of the area.
