Quebec and Ontario have administered the country's first COVID-19 vaccinations to a health-care worker from a Toronto nursing home and a Quebec care home resident. Anita Quidangen, a personal support worker at the Rekai Centre, received the first dose at a hospital in Toronto. Her coworker Derek Thompson was also inoculated and he says the shots represent progress for all front-line workers in the province. Federal Procurement Minister Anita Anand says the government has hired five Canadian companies to deliver tens of thousands of kilograms of dry ice each week to keep COVID-19 vaccines cold. Federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu says the COVID-19 vaccine doses headed to Canada will be divided among provinces and territories on a per-capita basis. That means according to the number of residents. The federal government is setting aside an additional allotment of vaccine doses for First Nations people living on reserve. One person is dead after part of a wall collapsed at a construction site in London, Ontario
One person is dead, two are in serious condition and two others in fair condition after part of a wall collapsed at a construction site in London, Ontario. Officials said the incident happened shortly before noon today, and for a while trapped workers inside the building that's under construction. The City of London previously said five people were taken to hospital, including one person without vital signs. Emergency crews responded to 555 Teeple Terrace around 11:40 a.m. after a report of a partial building collapse.

The border is going to stay closed until at least January 21st. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada and the US agreed to another 30 day extension of the restrictions that went into place back in March. The deal only allows for essential travel, including the trucking industry and health-care workers in border communities. Feds say all large provinces need stronger COVID-19 response 'now'
New federal forecasts say all large provinces need to strengthen their COVID-19 response "now," with data suggesting the death toll could hit nearly 15,000 on Christmas Day.
Updated modelling indicates that Canada remains on a "rapid growth trajectory," with daily cases expected to cross the 10,000 mark later this month.
The projections indicate that the total number of deaths related to the outbreak could reach between 14,410 to 14,920 by Christmas Day.
