Ridge Meadows RCMP are actively investigating a suspicious death that occurred overnight. On November 24, at approximately 11:15 pm, Ridge Meadows front line officers responded to a report of a vehicle fully engulfed at the 14300 block of 256th Street. Maple Ridge Fire Department was on scene to extinguish the fire. Surrey RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance with locating a missing 23 year-old woman. Jasvir Parmar was last seen on November 21, 2022 in the 6600-block of 133rd Street. Her last contact with family was in the early morning hours of November 22, 2022. Since then, efforts to find her have been unsuccessful. Police and family are concerned for Parmar’s well-being. Jasvir Parmar is described as a 23 year-old South Asian woman, 5’5", 130 pounds, with long straight black hair and brown eyes. Background: On November 22, 2022, at approximately 12:08 p.m., the Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing outside of Tamanawis Secondary School, located in the 12600-block of 66 Avenue, Surrey. Officers arrived within minutes and located an 18-year old man suffering life-threatening injuries. An active an unfolding police incident has currently closed Coquihalla BC Highway #5 north of Hope B.C., and south of Merritt B.C. No public or commercial vehicle are being allowed passage at this time.
