A visiting Quebec student has died, five days after being injured in a crash between a transit bus and a delivery truck near Castlegar. The unnamed teenager had been on life support at Kelowna General Hospital since shortly after the June 30th collision on Highway 3A. A man is dead after what RCMP say is an apparent targeted attack in Surrey, B.C. The BC Prosecution Service says a suspect arrested following a shooting at the Williams Lake Stampede has been charged with attempted murder. Jordell Sellars has also been charged with discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life. RCMP say two people were taken to hospital in what they say was a brazen shooting at the stampede grounds yesterday afternoon. Staff Sergeant Darren Dodge says in a release that police believe it was a targeted shooting but one innocent bystander was also wounded.

Canada Border Services says it found more than 50 bricks of drugs when officers searched a truck trying to cross from the United States at the Aldergrove border crossing. The agency says officers noticed that some pallets had been tampered with when they searched the truck last month. They found 50 kilograms of suspected cocaine and one kilo of heroin. The RCMP has taken over the investigation and no charges have been announced.

BC Ferries says it has been forced to pull the Queen of Alberni from service today, impacting sailings between Nanaimo and West Vancouver. It says the repairs are ``significant'' and there is a chance that sailings will be impacted tomorrow as well.
