Alberta road rage incident cause a crash, RCMP investigating

RCMP in Alberta are investigating what they call a road-rage incident that resulted in a crash where a young child was ejected from a vehicle. Police say they received reports on Saturday afternoon of a white truck passing vehicles, which they say overtook a family's SUV on Highway 2 near Carstairs. Police allege the truck braked aggressively in front of the SUV, causing it to roll and throwing a child under five from the vehicle. The child suffered life-threatening injuries, and police said yesterday they were still searching for the truck.

A man brutally beaten in Calgary city park, police investigating

Calgary police are investigating after a man was found brutally beaten in a city park. Officers and paramedics responded yesterday afternoon to reports of an assault in the northwest part of the city. They found a man who had suffered significant injuries and he was taken to hospital by ambulance. Witnesses told police they saw the man being hit with a baseball bat and kicked by two other people.

Oregon man accused of kidnapping, rape of Edmonton girl faces 3 new charges

An Oregon man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old Edmonton girl is facing three new criminal charges in the United States. Police allege Noah Madrano lured the girl through an online platform then abducted her and took her across the U-S border in June. The girl was rescued on July 2nd when Madrano was arrested and taken into custody in Oregon City. According to reports he now faces a total of eight charges, which include kidnapping, four sex-related charges, luring and two counts of using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct.

Calgary police say they are investigating after a body was discovered near Banff Trail yesterday. They say officers responded to reports of a man found unresponsive on a road around 3:20 p.m. Police say paramedics arrived and declared the man deceased on scene. Investigators are asking any witnesses or anyone with surveillance footage of the area to contact police.

Calgary officers have seized more than 12-hundred firearms _ including more than 300 believed to have been used in a crime _ so far this year.
