RCMP investigating fatal shooting near Eckville in central Alberta

The RCMP is investigating a fatal shooting yesterday in central Alberta. Police received a report of a shooting on a rural road west of Eckville. A 46 year old man was found with life threatening injuries and later died in hospital. Police say no one has been taken into custody. Alberta Sending More Firefighters to Help Battle B.C. Wildfires

The Alberta government is sending additional firefighters and support crews to British Columbia today to help battle wildfires across the province. Alberta’s Ministry of Forestry and Parks says 186 firefighters have already arrived in B.C. and are assisting with wildfire response efforts, while another 40 personnel are being deployed Tuesday.
