B.C. reports 3,223 COVID-19 cases as active cases rise past 31,000

B.C. is reporting 3,223 new cases of COVID-19, including one epi-linked case, for a total of 273,731 cases in the province.There are 31,817 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 238,524 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 324 individuals are in hospital and 90 are in intensive care. Woman shot at a house in Surrey

Surrey RCMP say a woman has been shot and seriously injured. It happened just before nine this morning at a home in the Whalley neighbourhood. Police say the woman is being treated in hospital while several people in the home are being held for questioning. A 17-year-old youth is in critical condition after a stabbing aboard a moving MiWay bus in Mississauga early Tuesday, according to Peel Regional Police. Police said officers responded at about 2 a.m. to the area of Hurontario Street and Watline Drive in the city's Britannia neighbourhood. Woman seriously injured in stabbing at Campbell River parking lot, RCMP investigating

A 30-year-old woman was seriously injured in a stabbing early Sunday morning in Campbell River, according to the RCMP. Police said the incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. in a parking area in the 1200-block of Cedar Street. Responding officers provided first aid before BC Emergency Health Services transported the woman to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
