An official says at least 18 people were killed Wednesday when a small plane crashed in a remote part of South Sudan.
The flight, chartered by Chinese oil firm Greater Pioneer Operating Company, had 21 people on board, including two pilots, said Gatwech Bipal, the minister of information in the oil-rich Unity state, where the crash happened earlier on Wednesday.
The plane crashed while it was taking off near an oil field to head to the international airport in Juba, the South Sudanese capital, he said.

Thieves steal $6K in clothing, merchandise from Calgary Lululemon
Four people have been charged in Calgary after thousands of dollars worth of clothing and merchandise were stolen from a Lululemon store.
Police say four people entered the downtown business last Thursday afternoon and left with items worth over six-thousand-dollars. They say witnesses were able to describe the getaway vehicle, which led police to a residence where the suspects were found and the stolen goods recovered.

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly is back in Washington, D.C., today to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio as Canada faces the threat of devastating tariffs landing as early as Saturday.
