Slovakia's prime minister injured in shooting
Media reports say Slovakia’s populist Prime Minister Robert Fico was injured in a shooting and taken to hospital. The incident took place in the town of Handlova, some 150 kilometers northeast of the capital, according to the news television station TA3. A suspect has been detained, it said.

B.C. needs dedicated, cross-government wildfire strategy: former minister
A former British Columbia forests minister says the province is on the right track as it responds to worsening wildfires, but the scale of the challenge is so great, it's falling behind and needs to prioritize a "whole-of-society" approach.
Doug Donaldson says the place to start should be a dedicated provincial wildfire strategy that lays out responsibilities for each government ministry, while supporting the participation of local communities, civil society and the forest industry.

Arvind Kejriwal will come to Punjab tomorrow, the Chief Minister will take out a big road show with Maan
Arvind Kejriwal himself is reaching to campaign for the candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party, which is fighting the election without an alliance with the Congress in Punjab. This is his first visit to Punjab after being granted temporary bail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi liquor scam.
Sources said that Kejriwal will hold a road show with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in Amritsar on Thursday and Mr. Harminder Sahib will also pay homage. The Supreme Court has granted bail to Kejriwal for the election campaign till June 1, on June 2 he will go back to jail.

Growing wildfires across Western Canada are forcing thousands from their homes
Thousands of people in Western Canada remain displaced from their homes as wildfires threaten their communities, triggering evacuation orders and alerts.
In British Columbia, a widening area around the northeastern community of Fort Nelson is under evacuation, with the Parker Lake wildfire burning close by and the larger Patry Creek wildfire raging to the northwest.
Both blazes are listed with the B.C. Wildfire Service as "wildfires of note," with Parker Lake measuring 84 square kilometres in size and the Patry Creek blaze covering a whopping 464 square kilometres.

Shiromani Akali Dal is not contesting the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat. The reason for this is that Shiromani Akali Dal has no leadership in Chandigarh. In the past, the only councilor of the party, Hardeep Singh Butrella, had joined the Aam Aadmi Party.

Wildfire burning near Fort Nelson continues to rapidly grow
The wildfire burning near Fort Nelson continues to grow rapidly.
As of Tuesday morning, the B.C. Wildfire Service reported the fire had grown to over 84 square kilometres.
That marks a significant expansion of the fire, which as of Monday morning, was just under 53 square kilometres in size.
This comes as efforts to evacuate Fort Nelson continue to be made due to the Parker Lake wildfire, which is still two kilometres outside the town.

Former minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot will come out of jail for election campaign
Former Punjab cabinet minister and senior Congress leader Sadhu Singh Dharamsot is coming out of jail, the Punjab-Haryana High Court has granted him bail till June 5 and asked him to surrender on June 6. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, like Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, filed a bail application for campaigning.
