Mounties say both pilots have been found dead after two small, single-engine planes collided in the skies over southern Manitoba. They say the crash happened about 8:45 a.m. in the Rural Municipality of Hanover near Steinbach, southeast of Winnipeg. The pilots were pronounced dead on the scene, and there were no passengers.Further details were not released.The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified.RCMP are set to hold a press conference later today.

The Independent Investigations Office of BC says it is looking for witnesses to the arrest and death of a man in Burnaby, B.C., last week. It says in a news release that Burnaby RCMP officers reported they were called to the 7000 block of Hillview Street shortly after 4:30 p.m. last Friday. Five Israeli soldiers were killed overnight in northern Gaza, the Israeli military said Tuesday. The military said two other soldiers were seriously wounded. Israeli media said the infantry soldiers were on patrol when explosive devices were detonated against them. Media said militants also opened fire on the reinforcements sent to evacuate the dead and wounded. The deaths came roughly two weeks after Israel reported once of its deadliest days in months in Gaza, when seven soldiers were killed when a Palestinian attacker attached a bomb to their armored vehicle.

The chief justice of the British Columbia Supreme Court says all criminal trials that were to take place in Vancouver, Abbotsford, Chilliwack and New Westminster during the FIFA World Cup next year will have to be rescheduled.
