Conservative MP's meet trucker's convoy enroute to Ottawa

A trucker convoy is expected to stop in Winnipeg today before making a final stop in Ottawa later this week. About 1,200 trucks converged in Balgonie, Saskatchewan, last night after coming from Saskatoon and elsewhere in Western Canada. The convoy was greeted by supporters including Conservative members of Parliament Andrew Scheer and Warren Steinley. The truckers are protesting a mandate to have COVID vaccines or be quarantined when re-entering Canada from the US.

US court upholds conviction of Mexican drug lord El Chapo

A US appeals court has upheld the conviction of the notorious Mexican drug lord known as El Chapo. The decision by the 2nd U-S Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan praised the trial judge for his handling of the case against Joaquin Guzman. The three-judge panel rejected claims that Judge Brian Cogan made rulings allowing a jury to hear faulty evidence at a 2019 trial. Guzman is serving life behind bars for his murderous crime reign.
