Stand-up star Zakir Khan has surprised fans with an emotional announcement that his current comedy tour may be his last for a while. While performing his popular special Papa Yaar in Hyderabad, the comedian revealed that he plans to step away from the stage for several years to focus on his health and personal well-being.
In a video from the show that has since gone viral, Zakir spoke candidly to the audience, sharing that he intends to take a prolonged hiatus-possibly stretching into 2028, 2029, or even 2030. Calling the moment deeply personal, he thanked fans for standing by him and said their presence meant more to him than words could express.
The announcement didn’t come out of the blue. Over the past year, Zakir has openly discussed his ongoing health struggles. After nearly a decade of nonstop touring—often performing multiple shows a day, surviving on little sleep, constant travel, and irregular meals—the toll has finally caught up with him.
