Global sensation Yo Yo Honey Singh is looking forward to releasing his much-awaited album ‘Glory’. In our exclusive conversation with the fan favourite artist, Honey Singh spoke about his life, struggles, career and more. In the interview with our host Faridoon Shahryar, the Brown Rang singer also shared his insightful thoughts about the contribution of late superstar Sidhu Moosewala in promoting authentic Punjabi in the music Industry.

In the discussion about how Bollywood has become more welcoming towards authentic Punjabi lyrics in sensational songs like Tauba Tauba and more, Honey Singh said he feels Sidhu Moosewala is the reason behind this crazy wave. He said, “Anyone believes it or not, says it or not, I’d credit my brother Sidhu Moosewala for this. Gurdas Mann promoted his mother tongue Punjabi throughout his lifetime, but I feel Sidhu’s demise spread it more rapidly. Even people from Calcutta, Chennai & Bangalore, are listening to Punjabi songs. They keep asking me the meaning of the songs, they enjoy the songs despite not understanding what they mean.”

He also added, “I feel this is the result of Sidhu’s sacrifice and we all Punjabis should thank him for it. This is only because of him that Punjabi has taken over the world.”

As the conversation delved deeper, Honey Singh also discussed the globally sensational artists Diljit Dosanjh and Karan Aujla. He said that he’d be happier if Sidhu was alive and could collaborate with all the international artists who praise him, as watching a Punjabi-turbaned boy make it this big would have made me feel proud. However, he feels that Diljit Dosanjh will achieve this in the coming years.

Praising Diljit Dosanjh, Yo Yo said, “I can say Diljit is gonna do it for sure in the coming few years, He’s gonna be collaborating with all the mainstream artists very soon, and I’m gonna be producing music.”

He later also talked about Karan Aujla and Shubh. He said, “Karan Aujla as well, he’s amazing, he’s also beautifully included the ‘Pendu Punjabi’ style in his music. Even Shubh has also contributed well in the same.”
