Television actress Sanchita Ugle, known for her work in the serial "Kumkum Bhagya," was found dead at her residence in Mumbai's Nalasopara area on Monday, according to preliminary information provided by police.
Police said Ugle lived with her parents and sister and was alone at home when the incident occurred. Initial findings indicate the death is being investigated as an apparent suicide. Her body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities said a sari was allegedly used in the incident. Investigators have not recovered a suicide note from the scene, according to the preliminary police assessment.
Hours before her death, a reel was posted on Ugle's official Instagram account. In the video, she appeared lip-syncing to the song "Dafli Wale, Dafli Baja." The caption accompanying the post read: "Main Nachun, Tu Nacha."
Police have not announced any conclusions regarding the circumstances leading to the actress's death. Further details are expected following the post-mortem report and ongoing investigation.
