Sunny Deol dedicates ‘Batwara 1947’ to mothers ahead of trailer release

Actor Sunny Deol shared an emotional message ahead of the trailer release of his upcoming film ‘Batwara 1947’, dedicating the film’s portrayal of the 1947 Partition to his mother Prakash Kaur and mothers around the world.

The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, is scheduled to release in theatres on August 14, 2026. The project has attracted attention since its announcement due to its focus on the Partition period.

In a social media post, Deol shared a photograph with his mother and described her as a source of strength and support. He wrote that he was dedicating the story of the 1947 Partition to his mother and other mothers, acknowledging their love, courage and sacrifices.

Deol also shared his reaction to the film receiving an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He said he was pleased that the film received the certification without any cuts.
