The sci-fi workplace thriller Severance led all contenders at the 2025 Emmy Awards with 27 nominations, standing out as the top drama in a big year for Apple TV+.
Apple also saw success with its new comedy The Studio, which tied the record for most comedy nominations with 23.
In limited series, Netflix’s Adolescence scored 13 nominations. Young actor Owen Cooper was nominated for supporting actor for his role as a troubled teen at the center of a murder case, while Erin Doherty, playing his therapist, earned a supporting actress nomination.
Another HBO Max hit, The Pitt, a medical drama, garnered 13 nominations, including best drama and lead actor for Noah Wyle. Katherine LaNasa also received a supporting actress nod, joining a competitive field led by The White Lotus cast.
Overall, Netflix secured the most nominations with 120, bolstered by Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story (11 nods) and Black Mirror (10). Apple TV+ followed with a strong showing at 79 total nominations.
