Sai Pallavi to Portray M.S. Subbulakshmi in Upcoming Biopic

A long-anticipated biographical film on Bharat Ratna awardee and Carnatic music icon M.S. Subbulakshmi is finally moving forward. The project, which will be helmed by filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, is set to feature Sai Pallavi in the role of the legendary vocalist.

Although an official announcement is still awaited, sources indicate that Sai Pallavi has already begun intensive preparation for the part. The actor is reportedly undergoing training in Carnatic music to authentically capture the essence of Subbulakshmi’s voice and artistry - a task many believe could become the most demanding performance of her career.

The film is expected to commence production later this year, marking the beginning of what promises to be a significant cinematic tribute to one of India’s most revered musical legends.
