Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao has officially confirmed that he will be playing Sourav Ganguly in the upcoming biopic, putting an end to months of speculation. Stepping into the shoes of the legendary cricketer, Rao acknowledged the magnitude of the role and admitted to feeling nervous, but also expressed his excitement about taking on such a significant challenge.

Adding a personal touch, Rajkummar Rao demonstrated his grasp of Bengali during the interview a skill he’s picked up over time thanks to his wife, actor Patralekhaa, who hails from a Bengali background.

He also expressed confidence in mastering the Bengali accent for the role on screen.

The biopic, which is currently untitled, will be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced under the banner of Luv Films.
