Kangana Ranaut’s Controversial Movie ‘Emergency’ Faces Ban in Punjab

Kangana Ranaut’s controversial film Emergency has not been shown in any cinema halls in Punjab. The film faced strong opposition from Sikh organizations and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). Cinema theater owners across the state refused to screen the film. Sikh organizations staged protests with black flags outside cinema halls in Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Mohali, prompting police deployment.

No cinema halls have been reported to screen this film. It was scheduled to be screened in 70 to 80 PVR cinema halls, but the opposition led to its cancellation.

Additionally, the film’s trailer depicted events from Bangladesh’s independence, leading to a ban on the film in Bangladesh as well.
