One of the most-anticipated projects of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai Kathiawadi has run into legal trouble.

The film starring Alia Bhatt as Gangubai is an adaptation of Hussain Zaidi's book, 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'.

However, as per media reports, Gangubai's family has filed a case against author Hussain Zaidi, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt as they have find some problem with the plot of the film.

As a result of this, the Bombay City Civil court has asked Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Hussain to reply on this case by January 7, 2021.

In the film, Alia will portray the role of Gangubai, a fierce brothel owner who was rumored to have had gangsters as her clients.
