In an exclusive conversation with our host Faridoon Shahryar on Connect Cine, Zahan Kapoor opened up about how he earlier felt uncomfortable when people compared him to his grandfather Shashi Kapoor.

The Bollywood film industry must be divided for the debate about nepotism but living up to the legacy of a legendary actor is never easy. Zahan Kapoor, who enjoys the grand legacy of a grand film background of Kapoor and Sippy family, has recently discussed the same.

In an exclusive conversation with our host Faridoon Shahryar on Connect Cine, Zahan Kapoor opened up about how he earlier felt uncomfortable when people compared him to his grandfather Shashi Kapoor. Zahan, currently garnering appreciation for his role in the web series Black Warrant, revealed that many people compared him to his grandfather after watching the series. Zahan said, “My Instagram is flooded with these messages saying you remind us of your grandfather. I used to feel irritated, actually scared. To be a victim of comparison and then to feel the pressure of shadow and then feel like second best, is something I was very scared of.”

The actor also went on to clarify that he now has a completely different take on it and understands people’s emotions behind this. He said, “Now I have a different take. Now I look at it like it’s a way of people being reminded of the joy they feel when they think about the performances of my grandfather. I am just a trigger to their deeper memories’ stores.”

Zahan Kapoor recently appeared in the web series Black Warrant and is willing to continue both working as a theatre artist and in cinema as well. The actor talked in detail about his aspirations and journey. To enjoy the entire conversation, watch Zahan Kapoor’s full interview on Connect Cine.
