Actor-musician Diljit Dosanjh’s first appearance from director Anurag Singh’s upcoming film Border 2 was unveiled on Monday, offering a gripping glimpse of him in a fighter-pilot’s uniform as he pilots a jet through a war-scarred sky. The project marks another major achievement for Anurag Singh—who hails from Jalandhar and has directed Punjabi hits like Yaar Annmulle and the award-winning Punjab 1984—and is expected to see Sunny Deol return to his iconic role from the 1997 classic Border.
The reveal, posted by T-Series with the caption “Iss desh ke aasmaan mein Guru ke baaz pehra dete hain,” shows Diljit injured yet resolute, gripping the controls of a lightly damaged aircraft while enemy fighters close in behind him. Suniel Shetty, one of the stars of the original film, reacted with clapping and heart emojis.
Diljit further shared a short video of himself in full pilot gear, set to the timeless Border song “Sandesa Aaya Hai,” amplifying the nostalgia. Carrying forward the legacy of JP Dutta’s celebrated 1997 film, set during the Indo-Pak War of 1971, Border 2 aims to rekindle the patriotic spirit of the original, which featured Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
