Ranbir Kapoor is all set to entertain the audience once again and this time with a grey shade character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming project ‘Love and War’.

The film not only will feature the Barfi star but will also star Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the leading roles. Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced the big project in January this year, and ever since more details about it have been highly anticipated by the fans.

Recently a report by Pinkvilla revealed some vital details about Ranbir’s role in the film. A source close to the development revealed, “Love And War is essentially a love triangle with war in its backdrop. Ranbir's performance in Animal blew SLB's mind away.

While Love And War is an action love story on the face of it, the inter-character dynamic holds key importance. While Alia and Vicky's part have their own share of challenges in terms of performances, SLB over the years was looking to find a face for the role that Ranbir is doing at the moment.”

The source also added, “It’s a twisted grey character and warrants the presence of someone who is not just a great actor but also a superstar. It has elements of heroism but deep within lies the psychic undertones. It’s a solid subject with strong scope for performance and that’s what has excited both Ranbir and SLB to reunite after 17 long years.”

Coming to more details about the project, the story of Love and War is inspired by 1964’s cult classic movie Sangam starring Raj Kapoor, Vyjanthimala and Rajendra Kumar. The upcoming project will be a strong action love story and will be a love triangle.

Ranbir, Alia and Vicky are set to start shooting for Love and War by the end of 2024, and the film is scheduled for its release around Christmas 2025.
