Directed by Aditya Chopra, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge hit theatres in 1995, and this October the classic marked its grand 30-year milestone. Fans had an iconic moment to cherish as Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol unveiled a bronze statue of their beloved characters, Raj and Simran, in London’s Leicester Square.
Despite the cold and rain, the legendary duo lit up the ceremony with their trademark charm—smiling for the cameras, greeting fans, and even recreating their unforgettable DDLJ pose. Shah Rukh looked sharp in a black suit, while Kajol stunned in a mint-green saree.
This bronze sculpture is the first ever dedicated to an Indian film in Leicester Square, joining the ranks of iconic characters from classics like Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, Paddington, Singin’ in the Rain, and heroes such as Batman and Wonder Woman. The statue captures one of DDLJ’s most famous moments—a pose the stars joyfully brought to life once again.
