In a candid Instagram post, musician Amaal Mallik revealed his diagnosis of clinical depression and announced his decision to sever personal ties with his family, opting to maintain only professional relationships. He attributed the growing rift with his brother, fellow musician Armaan Malik, to his parents, expressing frustration over feeling undervalued despite his hard work in the music industry.

Amaal shared, "I’ve reached a point where I can no longer keep silent about the pain I’ve endured. For years, I’ve been made to feel less, despite dedicating my life to create a safe environment for others." He emphasized the emotional toll of his efforts, having poured his heart into over 126 melodies released in the past decade.
