Bollywood Actress Poonam Pandey has become a hot topic of discussion all around, and that too for no good reason. On Friday, she ruled the social media after an announcement was made about her sudden demise due to cervical cancer. While her fans mourned the loss, many doubted and questioned her death as there was no authenticity to the news.

Soon after the news grew big, Poonam showed up and revealed that she was not dead, but the announcement made was only an effort to create awareness about Cervical Cancer. Her revelation has angered the internet as netizens and disappointed by her fake death gimmick and called it a cheap publicity stunt.

Recently, Schbang, the agency involved with Poonam Pandey’s fake death has also stepped ahead and apologized for the same. In the official statement, the agency stated, "Yes, we were involved in the initiative for Poonam Pandey to spread awareness about Cervical Cancer in collaboration with Hauterfly. To start off, we would like to extend a heartfelt apology - especially towards those who have been triggered as a result of having faced/having a loved one face the hardships of any kind of Cancer."

The statement also clarified, "Our actions were driven by a singular mission - to elevate awareness about Cervical Cancer. In 2022, India registered 123,907 Cervical Cancer cases and 77,348 deaths. After Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer is the second-most frequent malignancy affecting middle-aged women in India."

While Poonam and Schbang have expressed their true intention behind the act, netizens and celebrities from the entertainment industry have expressed their disappointment for the same. While many have spoken against Poonam, others have demanded to ban Poonam from social media.
