Actor Satish Kaul passes away

After prolonged illness since last year and Covid-19 complications, actor, Satish Kaul, 73 died on Saturday in Ludhiana.

He had won the Lifetime Achievement award for his contribution to Punjabi cinema in 2011. Satish Kaul was tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to Shri Rama Charitable Hospital, Ludhiana on Thursday.

The actor, who played Lord Indra in the epic drama Mahabharat, had previously made headlines for his financial woes amidst the pandemic and lockdown last year. He has hits like Maula Jatt, Sassi Punnu, Ishq Nimana, Suhag Chooda and Patola to his credit.

Celebrity chef Kunal Kapur tweeted, “#SatishKaul, the Mahabharata actor passed away. These Mahabharata, Nukkad, Ramayana characters are so much a part of our lives, we have grown seeing them everyday! #RIP”
