Imran Khan urges Pak filmmakers to focus on original content, not copy Bollywood
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the country's filmmakers to focus on original content and adopt new approaches to filmmaking instead of copying Bollywood.
During an event at the short film festival in Islamabad, Khan said mistakes were committed at the beginning since the Pakistani film industry was "impressed" by Bollywood which resulted in copying and adopting another culture.
"So the most important thing I want to say to young filmmakers is that according to my experience of the world, only originality sells -- the copy has no value," he said, as quoted by Dawn newspaper.

Former Bigg Boss contestant found with drugs
Maharashtra police on Sunday busted an alleged rave party at a private bungalow in the Igatpuri hill station of Nashik district and took 22 people including Bollywood celebrities including actors, choreographers, ex-contestants of reality show Bigg Boss into custody.
According to police officials, a police team raided the bungalow after a tip-off, where the people were seen consuming alcohol and other intoxicants were being served illegally.
Police also recovered a huge amount of narcotics substance and cash in the raid.

Jaya Bachchan to make her digital debut
Bollywood actor-politician Jaya Bachchan is all set to make her OTT debut. The veteran actress is all set to appear in Endemol Shine India's upcoming project titled Sadabhar.
According to reports, the actress started shooting way back in February.

Sonu Sood to create volunteer programme for COVID-19 vaccination registration in rural India
There's no stopping actor Sonu Sood! On Friday, he came up with one more initiative to extend his support to people amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
He has now launched COVREG, which aims to create a volunteer programme for COVID-19 vaccination registration in rural India.
The particular initiative is powered by rural fintech leader Spice Money, which will provide the technological expertise for building the application, and will onboard volunteers through the website www.covreg.in.

Actor Abhay Deol is all set to come up with new project, titled 'Spin'.
Taking to Instagram, Abhay unveiled the details of the upcoming project. He shared that 'Spin' will first be available to only US audience, and it will stream on Disney channel from August 13.

1984 riots victims send legal notice to makers of web series 'Grahan'
Victims of the 1984 riots in Delhi and Jharkhand's Bokaro have sent a legal notice to HotStar Disney for the web series "Grahan" for allegedly twisting the narrative of the riots in their show in a "deliberate" attempt to hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community.
