Ravneet Singh Bittu, Union Minister of BJP from Punjab, took oath as Rajya Sabha member on Thursday. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar administered oath to Bittu as Rajya Sabha member.
Let us tell you that Ravneet Bittu was recently elected Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan without any opposition. It is to be noted that in the Rajya Sabha by-elections held in 9 different states, the NDA won 11 seats, against which the opposition did not field any candidate.
Bittu was announced as the candidate from Rajasthan by the party. Ravneet Bittu is the Union Minister of State for Railways and Minister of Food Processing in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. He lost the Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana, due to which the BJP sent him to Parliament through the Rajya Sabha.
