Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre targeted U.S. President Donald Trump and Liberal Leader Mark Carney during a campaign event in Toronto today. Poilievre criticized Carney as a weak leader and vowed that, if elected, he would take a firm stance against Trump.
He stated that while he supports working with the U.S. to tighten border security, he will also demand that Trump take action to stop the smuggling of firearms from the U.S. into Canada.
Poilievre further pledged to restructure Canada’s economy to reduce its dependence on the U.S. Additionally, he promised to eliminate the automatic annual tax increase on beer, wine, and spirits if a Conservative government is formed.
