Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has criticized Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s meeting with incoming U.S. President Donald Trump in Florida. Poilievre argued that Trudeau returned empty-handed, with Trump offering no assurances that tariffs would not be imposed on Canadian goods.

Meanwhile, Poilievre has called on Trudeau to limit the number of asylum seekers entering Canada and to present a plan to Parliament to strengthen border security. He claimed that Trudeau has lost control over key issues such as the budget deficit, immigration, and border management.

Poilievre emphasized that Canada is facing a growing number of refugee claims and that the government should set limits on asylum seekers. As of September, there were approximately 250,000 asylum seekers waiting for processing, with more than 33,000 claims already approved.

Poilievre clarified that he supports refugees who genuinely need protection, but stressed that there is no place for individuals who enter Canada under false pretenses. He called for stronger action to address this issue.
