Panchayat elections will be held in Punjab on October 5

Panchayat elections may be held soon in Punjab. The Advocate General, who appeared in the High Court on behalf of the government, has indicated that the panchayat elections will be held on October 5. Along with this, the High Court has reprimanded the Punjab government for the delay in the elections of Municipal Corporations and Municipal Councils.
The court said that despite the end of their tenure, why were the elections not held? The next hearing of this matter will now be held on September 23.
It is to be noted that the municipal corporation elections in Punjab have been pending since January last year and the elections of around 42 municipal councils have not been held.
