Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his government is prepared for any possible outcome of tomorrow's US election.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his government is prepared for any possible outcome of tomorrow's US election.

For weeks, Trudeau has avoided commenting on how Canada plans to respond to the results.

But he says the reaction will be based on how to defend Canada's interests and values in dealing with its largest trading partner and closest ally.

Trudeau says his government is looking carefully at proposals made by both President Donald Trump and former vice-president Joe Biden.

Voters go to the polls in the United States tomorrow, although record numbers of Americans have already voted in advance.

Trump has rallies planned in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Michigan today, while Biden spends time in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
