ED has arrested former cabinet minister of Punjab Bharat Bhushan Ashu

Senior Congress leader and former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu from Punjab's Ludhiana has been arrested by the ED team in the multi-crore transport tender scam in the Food and Civil Supplies Department.
According to information, ED had summoned former minister Ashu to the office in Jalandhar for questioning. They were interrogated for about 8 hours. When Bharat Bhushan Ashu was the Minister of the Ministry of Food and Civil Supplies, he was accused of fraud in the transport tender of Rs 2,000 crore.
During the investigation of the matter, information also came to light that many fake vehicles were used in the name of transportation and supply. This matter was with the Vigilance Bureau of Punjab Police, on this basis ED has taken further action.
