Salim-Javed, the iconic screenwriting duo who transformed Indian cinema in the 1970s with groundbreaking hits like Zanjeer, Sholay, and Deewar, are set to collaborate once again on a new feature project. The pair recently reunited at the launch event for the documentary series Angry Young Men, marking their first public appearance together in years.

During the event, Salim-Javed announced their exciting comeback to scriptwriting, with Salim expressing their enthusiasm: "We’re planning to write another film together. Even back in the day, our fees were quite high, and they will be even higher now. Just keep that in mind."

Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar are renowned for pioneering the ‘angry young man’ archetype in Indian cinema. This concept was first introduced in their 1973 film Zanjeer, which significantly altered Amitabh Bachchan’s career path. Following this success, the screenwriting pair crafted other notable films such as Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Majboor, and Haath Ki Safai. They gained a reputation for consistently delivering tightly-knit scripts and were on track to become the highest-paid screenwriters in the industry.
