As per the latest news report, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone could be questioned by the Mumbai police in relation to fake social media followers scam. In addition to Priyanka and Deepika, nearly 176 high profile Bollywood celebrities, sports personalities will also be interrogated by Mumbai police on this scam. The news report highlights the probability of an international social media marketing company being a part of this scam. Mumbai’s Joint Commissioner Vinay Kumar Chaubey in a statement issued to the media stated that around 54 films are found to be a part of the social media followers scam.
Elaborating further, the report stated that a man named Abhishek Dinesh Daude has reportedly been arrested by the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Mumbai Police in relation to making fake social media accounts. The report added that Abhishek Dinesh Daude has claimed that he works for a foreign company. The issue came into the limelight when singer Bhumi Trivedi reportedly filed a case with the police when she found a fake profile of her name. The singer's fake Instagram page was created by an imposter who also chatted with other users.
